This Clubhouse design is inspired by the Colonial era buildings built by an influential Malay official during the regime of Sarawak White Rajah. This apporach of traditional with a modern twist architecture could find a place in keeping with its heritage and history, as a show piece in Kuching city’s urban renewal plan and a monument in which the best of Malay architecture are still beautifully preserved. It has a beautiful and functional architecture suited to the climate and typical for its time may be observed here in form of wide awnings and high windows.
